Anthropic commits $150 million to US science

Anthropic is committing $150 million over three years to the US Genesis Mission. The contribution combines access to Claude with training and technical support for federal scientific research.

Access comes with deployment support

According to Anthropic’s announcement, more than 15 participating agencies, including NASA, the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation, are in scope. Several hundred research projects will receive Claude, Claude Code and API credits.

The program also includes work with agencies and national laboratories on priorities such as fusion energy and quantum computing, alongside onboarding for new projects. The commitment extends an existing relationship with the Department of Energy. It is a funding and access announcement, rather than evidence that a particular scientific problem has been solved.
